I am always thinking about how to harmonize my body with surroundings. I have never been comfortable if the relationship is not merged. For this project, I set out to make an extremely personal space out of glass that fit the shape of my body. I stood in a center spot and drizzled a thin thread of hot glass around me while turning in a circular pattern. The glass formed the outline of my body like a 3D printer would. The glass accumulated, and it was a vehicle to trace the relationship between my body and space. The result captured the size and shape of my body and responded to my emotions and movement in those moments. For example, as the form grew taller and closer to my body, the outline expanded. I was afraid the hot glass was too close and might burn me, and this was trapped and preserved in the work.
